Nathan Han is a music producer, songwriter, keyboardist, and bassist based in New York, Washington DC, and Seoul.
Born and raised in Seoul, he studied jazz trombone and composition at Seoul Institute of the Arts before moving to the United States in 2021. He completed his MA in Songwriting and Production at Berklee College of Music NYC in 2025.
As someone trained in live instruments, he draws inspiration from the emotional impact of live performance. While producing all instruments through MIDI, he focuses on the interplay between drums and bass, prioritizing groove. He meticulously adjusts the dynamics and velocity of drum and bass programming to reflect the perspective and sensibility of a performer.
Currently, he works as a K-pop producer for Clef Company and KSS Music, handling everything from songwriting and arrangement to vocal direction and final mixing. Understanding how an artist's unique identity shapes their music, he strives to bring out each artist's authentic voice while maintaining a balance with commercial appeal.
He collaborates with jazz drummer Jud Kim (Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory) as Pepe, pursuing more musically experimental challenges than commercial work. They have released Zigzag and All About Me, both featured on Uniqlo and H&M store playlists and actively played to this day.
He produced Jud Kim's EP GIFT at Powerstation in New York, collaborating with two-time Grammy-winning producer Josh Giunta. He is currently engaged in active production and recording work with artists from around the world, including Adai Song, Hannah Berry, and Jeremy Gay.
As an educator, he does not adhere to traditional methods. Valuing the sensory aspects of music—whether it feels exciting or fun—he promotes music-making through enjoyment, allowing practical skills to be absorbed naturally and musically.
